Briefly about Lipno
Lipno or Lipno Dam is an artificial water work built on the Vltava River. It is the largest water surface in the Czech Republic – also known as the Czech or South Bohemian Sea. The dam of the lake is located in the village Lipno nad Vltavou.
It is close to both central Šumava(Bohemian forest) and for example the town of Český Krumlov, the castle Hluboká etc. There are hundreds of kilometers of cycle paths, also suitable for in-line skating, in the region. A number of marked hiking trails leading through beautiful nature scenery, with historical, technical and cultural monuments.
Lipno is a renowned fishing area and a popular destination for water lovers. There are beautiful beaches and one of the best windsurfing and yachting sites in the Czech Republic. It is also very popular for sailors.
You can go to Šumava by foot, by bike, by skating or by horse. It does not matter how old or how fit you are. Everyone will find many suitable activities here and will be happily returning here. During the main seasons (summer, winter), a number of cultural and sporting events take place in the region.
